Position Summary Information

Summary

Position provides graphic design services that support university branding, academic marketing, community outreach, alumni and donor engagement. Position will focus on the design of printed and digital media including advertisements, direct mail, literature, publications, newsletters, signage, displays, advertising specialties and apparel. (Online Portfolio is requested for this position, must be included on your resume.)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Other duties may be assigned.
1. Assist supervisor and members of the Marketing and Communication division in development, design, and production of marketing and promotional materials.
2. Work on multiple concurrent projects while maintaining high standards of excellence and conformity to university graphic standards.
3. Meet project deadlines set by supervisor. Proactively communicate with supervisor when completion by deadline is in jeopardy.
4. Ensure all working materials, including artwork files, photographs, samples, etc., are properly archived and cataloged for future reference.
5. Ability to produce high-quality photographs of university events or features as needed.
6. Stay current with design and marketing trends.
7. Work with third-party vendors to deliver press-ready files for production.
8. Plan and attend discovery meetings with clients to understand the full scope of projects.
9. Share and consistently express division’s commitment to express Christ’s attitude of service, excellence, humility and dignity in each interaction with university clients and external vendors.

 Ability to plan, develop and coordinate multiple projects
 Knowledge of project management systems
 Strong knowledge of the various aspects of graphic design production including: typography, composition and layout, color theory, printing, photography and digital media.

Skill and ability in: Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc)

Working knowledge of standard workplace applications: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university in Graphic Design or related field or one to two years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Successful experience in a related field that requires strong organizational and relational skills.
