Position Summary Information

Summary

The Institutional Effectiveness Coordinator is the primary facilitator for the University’s online course evaluation system and assessment surveys and also assists with many activities conducted by the Office of Institutional Research by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Oversee and schedule all online course evaluations conducted each semester. This includes coordinating with the University’s schools, colleges, and departments and the external survey software vendor to insure all courses are evaluated.
2. Insure correct individual, unit, and University course evaluation reports are available to faculty, Schools, Colleges, and Departments and provide reports to individuals, as appropriate.
3. Serve as the primary contact for faculty, students, and staff seeking information about the CBU course evaluation system and results.
4. Coordinate university assessment surveys and supervisor evaluations, and distribute results as appropriate.
5. Work with other campus offices to develop and deliver surveys, define survey procedures, and maintain survey schedules and documentation.
6. Assist with collecting information for and completing external surveys for college guides and professional organizations.
7. Work with other team members within the Office of the Provost to insure that survey processes function correctly and accomplish their purposes.
8. Perform data entry and verification in the enterprise Jenzabar database, as needed.
9. Compile and evaluate data in Excel, create charts, run Cognos reports, and prepare data upload files for survey systems.
10. Serve on committees, as assigned, to represent survey processes and institutional effectiveness.
11. Train faculty and staff on use of survey software.
12. Monitor and update the Institutional Research Web Page, as needed or requested.
13. Assist the Director and Assistant Director of Institutional Research with special projects and other duties as assigned.
14. Contribute to the overall effective and efficient operation of the Office of Institutional Research.
15. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

 Ability to comprehend and maintain database systems and execute and modify related reporting, including the course evaluation system, the university-wide CX system, and Cognos reporting application.

 Knowledge, skills and abilities to evaluate diverse types of information in regard to the most effective means for presenting the information to advance the image of the university.
 Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications.
 A thorough knowledge of: Business English and arithmetic; general office methods, procedures and practices.
 Ability to plan, develop, and coordinate multiple projects.
 Ability to read and write at a level appropriate to the duties of the position.
 Ability to use independent judgment and to manage and impart confidential information.
 Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
 Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff and student body.
 Excellent telephone courtesy knowledge and experience.
 Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and procedures.
 Ability to develop and maintain recordkeeping systems and procedures.
 Ability to resolve customer complaints and concerns.
 Ability to investigate and analyze information and to draw conclusions.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
