Position Summary Information

Summary

This position will provide support and labor to the Manager of Logistics, Receiving and Stores by assisting in facilitation and coordination of logistics and staging of deliveries, off-loading, receiving and storage items and equipment. Assists with coordination of deliveries to and pick up of storage items from campus departments (on main campus and surrounding off-sites). May assign work to or oversee performance of student workers and/or contracted services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Other duties may be assigned.
1. Prepare and complete orders for delivery or pick up according to schedule (load, pack, wrap, label, ship)
2. Receive, inspect and process warehouse stock products (pick, unload, label, store).
3. Perform inventory controls of stored items/equipment, and keep quality standards high for audits.
4. Follow department policies, procedures and methods for material handling, stock control, logistics and packaging.
5. Complete diary logs into inventory; report any discrepancies.
6. Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules and regulations.
7. Assist with creating an efficient space utilization plan for items in long-term and short-term storage.
8. Complete assigned work orders in a timely manner; maintains appropriate records of work performed.
9. Operate and maintain warehouse vehicles and equipment (including forklifts, stackers and pallet jacks).
10. Keep a clean and safe working environment; attend regular safety meetings and work in a safe manner.
11. May be required to perform general custodial and janitorial tasks as required.
12. Must have a valid California driver license.
13. Must have valid forklift certification.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position could be responsible for assigning work and/or giving direction to part-time Student Workers, in order to complete office work assignments.

 Ability to read and write at a level appropriate to the duties of the position.
 Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff and student body.
 Ability to supervise and train staff, including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.
 Strong organizational skills and detailed oriented.
 Excellent telephone courtesy knowledge and experience.
 Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and procedures.
 Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials.
 Ability to develop and maintain recordkeeping systems and procedures.
 Ability to resolve customer complaints and concerns.
 Ability to investigate and analyze information and to draw conclusions.

Education and/or Experience

One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
