Position Summary Information


The primary goals will always be to extend California Baptist University’s brand’s reach, conceive and design Athletics departmental publications, and/or other print and electronic communications vehicles

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Other duties may be assigned.
1. Responsible for promoting the mission of CBU athletics and the University, including adherence to department policies/procedures, as well as the rules and regulations of the university and the NCAA.
2. Subject to and expected to comply with all applicable University policies and procedures, including but not limited to the personnel policies and other policies found in the University’s Administrative Guide,
3. Conceives, designs and executes graphic projects (posters, brochures, flyers, social media sponsor content and event information) for athletics department teams and events
4. Creating digital design elements to be used across e-mail marketing, social media and website
5. Establishes job specifications to obtain required quotes for external vendor services,
6. Collaborates with athletic leadership team to develop written copy to be used in various projects
7. Consults and presents multimedia graphic designs with athletic department team
8. Inspects and approves vendor progress on projects by proofing systems
9. Monitors and oversees all projects on to assure high quality and on time schedule demands
10. Coordinates initial concept to final project completion of each project with vendors and clients
11. Responsible for maintaining style guides and assisting in camp brochures as needed
12. Responsible for producing all creative for digital and print advertising campaigns.
13. Create, design all 19 team sport posters
14. Schedule photo shoots for team posters/brochures/visual marketing
15. Coordinates and proofs all outbound department marketing materials
16. Create and design outdoor billboards and promotional ads
17. Design all other promotional materials (ticketing brochures, promotional brochures/inserts)
18. Creation/update of annual team visitors guides
19. Creates all outbound social media templates for ticketing, and outbound external communications)
20. Creates and manages approved additional templates from Photoshop, Adobe, desktop publishing
21. Strategically create and develop a year-round plan involving new design concepts, graphics and layouts to attract top student-athletes to CBU;
22. Strategically develop graphics, visual ads and logos for all CBU athletics branding.
23. Creates and manages digital media style guide graphics templates
24. Assists in the creation of all summer camp brochures
25. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

1. Create all social media graphic templates (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) for pre-game attendance promotion, players of the week, post-game superlatives/recognition
2. Creates social media graphic design templates for athletic department usage
3. Creates social media templates for outbound group marketing for all athletic events
4. Creates, uploads monitors and manages social media pages for and CRAZIES pages (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat) on an ongoing basis
5. Works with each individual team on creating and pushing out content on team specific social media pages (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram)
6. Supervise and oversee all CBU Athletics branding, and social media that informs recruits, student athletes, alumni and supporters of the program
7. Monitor other NCAA Div. I programs for new ideas involving social media outlets
8. Creates and manages social media athletic style guide templates for external distribution

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position could be responsible for assigning work and/or giving direction to part-time Student Workers, in order to complete office work assignments.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with various social media platforms
